We`re dealing with an agent who feels compelled during our negotiations to continue to tell our Buyer that her Seller won`t agree to our counter-offers and repairs that we`re requesting. Twice now, I`ve explained to her that her job as a Realtor is to pass on the information to the seller, not speak for the seller directly without actually knowing what the Seller may do! I explained to her that she doesn`t really know if the Seller will agree or disagree.
Many times Realtors fail to realize that our very jobs as Realtors is to pass information along to both parties and allow them to decide. Without actually receiving permission from a buyer/seller a Realtor risks jeopardizing the negotiations and could very well lead to an offer being rescinded.In our case it`s very close.
I`ll be contacting this agents Broker today to explain that what this Realtor is doing is both unethical and highly unprofessional and allow the Broker the chance to tell this Realtor what our responsibilities are as professionals.
